THE SYMBOLS
Here you have five interlocked Circles. They represent a couple of things. One is the way the Mamm Books fit together. The other is what the Legacy of our folks from then through now is all about.
And here too you see a double Spiral. It's pretty to look at, there's no doubt about that - but the concept it represents ought to scare the ever-livin' daylights out of us, or at least make us think.
See, the Spiral, the 'normal' Spiral, is based on a mathematical thing called PHI, or Fibonacci, the Golden Mean - 1.618 is the rounded off number used because PHI, like PI (3.14 rounded off) is an infinite number. We use it to build Spirals - and we're not the only ones. Universes are built on PHI; storms are built on PHI; seashells and pine-cones and the middles of flowers are built on PHI; our own bodies are built on PHI. The list goes on and on and on, just like the Spiral.
The Spiral is the symbol of Creation, Life, Death, Eternity. Take that however suits you best. It's the basis of our world.
We call it the Golden Mean because it's the Balance between too much and not enough.
If you've ever cooked a meal for a bunch of people you've used PHI - how many potatoes to mash so you'll have enough but not end up with a lot of leftovers, for example.
So we've got the Spiral.
Here's the Question:
What if we've gotten things so messed up in our world that the Spiral is twisted around? What if we're not following the Law of Balance that keeps our world the way it's supposed to be?
Hmmm?
That's what I find a little scary about that pretty little double Spiral up there.
Because, you see, the Spiral, PHI, just keeps on spinning, going 'round and 'round, in an ever-increasing Circle, right? On and on and on to Eternity, infinite.
Take a closer look at that pretty double Spiral up there.
It's still going 'round and 'round all right, but that twist kind of changes what happens to it, doesn't it? Instead of spinning on out into eternity it rolls itself around into a dead end.
If I lose my Balance I'm liable to fall on my face. THINK about that for a minute, only in bigger terms.
