As we spend time with this family from the ancient past, we come to recognize something: many of us share the Legacy they lived and died to preserve for us. The series They Are My Song travels with this family through the Dark Ages right up to the present.
We see in ourselves, we feel in ourselves, the same values they held so dear: Freedom of Choice in our lives to follow the path we choose for ourselves; the haunting refrains of the search for the truth about Creation, Life, Death, Eternity; the Peace that seems too elusive but is to be found within our own spirits; the Faith in the One God, the Holy Trinity, that is a gift to us; Healing for our own selves and for our world which too many of us doubt; Hope and Tomorrow, the belief that tomorrow is worth what we do today to make it happen, to make it better for those who follow us; the kind of Love that binds hearts and souls beyond the years of our lives; and the Unity so long sought by so many and found not where it is supposed to be but rather within the spirits of each and all of us.
These are the elements of the Song this family Sings through the generations, the centuries - the changes of time change not the meaning of the Song, nor can that meaning ever be changed.
Challenge yourself to find your own part in the Song; something in you will respond to one of the above or to yet other parts of the Song.
Find it.
In whatever way best suits, raise your Voice and Sing your part of the Song. Everyone has a Voice and the right - some would say the privilege, some would say the responsibility - to use it.
We are the new Keepers of this Legacy, each and all of us. What we choose to do with it is up to us.
