30,000 Words into Mamm of Iona

www.scottishwildcats.co.uk

Okay not QUITE 30,000 words but it's darned close!

A few shifts at my part time job will fill most of my next days but I can't wait to get back to Iona and see what they're up to!

LittleMamm has been one busy girl.

I thought she would be driving her twin cousins mad by now but they've surprised me more than a little.

The twins delivered to Ordha and Rogue back on Tarnos, now the mounts of said twin cousins, have acquired names: Teine, meaning fire, is the red filly; A'Ghrian, meaning sun, is the gold colt. They too are surprising me as they become even more Characters than Ordha and Rogue have been.

Add to them Caht, the big wild cat of the north forest, and Sidheach who is a very strange and powerful wolf presence, and there are bound to be a few unusual plot developments.

Don't ask me what they're going to be; I have no idea.

Why I even bother to try to plan plots for these Characters is beyond me. They just do whatever they want and pay me no mind except to say, like LittleMamm to her cousins, 'Keep up if you can!'

Mostly, I can't.

On a side note, the big cats of Scotland have been much on my mind from the beginning of this series. Do some  homework of your own on them - it's incredible.

My stories are fiction, but the plight of the wild cats of Scotland is all too real. Various factors, including breeding with domestic cats, have almost wiped them out. Whether they stand a chance of survival remains to be seen, but extinction would be a very sorry fate for them.
