ARTWORK WITH TRANSLUCENT PAINTS

Getting a photo of this particular painting is difficult.

Its appearance changes depending on how much and what kind of light it's getting. Throw a flash into the equation and it just complicates everything.

This is the only painting I've done using only translucents. I didn't bother to try to count the layers - there are many, some of which have metallic characteristics, which doesn't help anything either when it comes to trying to get a picture of it.

At any rate, this small painting has always been one of my favorites. Every time I see it I tell myself I'm going to work with those translucent paints again, do more of this sort of thing- and then I don't.

Luckily for me, this little painting is in the room of my newest little granddaughter; I'll get to see it whenever I'm there! IF I can remember to take a look at it, that is. You know, my daughters and grandchildren tend to be a little more interesting to me than any painting!!
